hello everyone,
i usually type with two hands, but my furchild is lying his head on my left hand. i was curious, can you feed a cat egg, and tuna that is in water, from a can? please don't get angry at me. he's "hugging" me because he senses i'm upset about something. so, some suggestions would be welcome, and hopefully, he will let up off of my left arm, so i can type properly, lol!
thanks!

Re: what kinds of "human foods" can a cat eat?
Thu, October 29, 2009 - 10:43 AMI'd avoid giving him a huge portion of tuna, but I believe a few nibbles are ok (I've heard that too much fish can mess up a cat's thyroid). Whole egg should be ok too. Here is a link from the U.S. Humane Society that gives a list of the more common foods that are toxic to cats: www.hsus.org/pets/pet_ca...to_pets.html
Things I give my cats regularly include lean beef, chicken, unseasoned homemade chicken broth, asparagus, green beans, mushrooms, carrots, and the occasional shrimp. -

Thu, October 29, 2009 - 5:31 PMThanks, that helps out a whole lot. I do give him some of my chicken, when I get it. I bookmarked the list, so that I will have it on hand.
Thanks again,
Sebastian

Tue, November 3, 2009 - 5:03 PMSeparate an egg and cook the white, but leave the yolk raw. He'll eat it up and it's really good for him. You want to cook the whites because it contains a compound that stops absorption of biotin when raw. When cooked though, the compound is broken down and no longer causes any issue. -

Tue, November 3, 2009 - 6:46 PMOk, thanks. I thought about separating the white from the egg, I just didn't know what it would do to help him.
