I have an 8 month old kitten, Rohan, who is wonderful and healthy, except I'm afraid that he is a *little* chubby. He has a sizable fat roll around his midsection.
He's due for a vet check soon, so I'll ask them - but in the meantime, I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to make sure he's being fed correctly. We feed our cats a small amount in the morning, a small amount at night - dry pellets (Wellness brand).
Any suggestions? He gets plenty of exercise. Thanks!

Re: Chubby kitten?
Wed, November 21, 2007 - 7:21 AMWhen was the last time he was at the vet? Has he ever been wormed?
Also, kibble, even the good stuff, has a tendency to make cats fat. Start supplementing at least 50% of his diet with canned.
One of my cats totally porks out if I give her even 25% kibble. Needless to say she's a strict, canned food only diet.
One more thing to note is that neutered males have a tendency to get what I affectionately call a "fat flap" on their bellies. It kind of hangs down and sways when they walk.
