Hmm - I've never had a deaf cat, but my sweet Ray was born blind and we had to be really careful with him. Basically I would recommend that you keep making your noises for him. Cats are incredibly adept to new situations and I think that as long as he knows you are still there for him he will continue to improve on his new situation. Keep making those noises, maybe keep them around the same time and place to call him for meals and such. Of course loving him extra can't hurt either, this is just a transition phase for him. Once he sees that you guys can still communicate, maybe he will feel better about the whole thing. That's what I think anyway, Im sure there are others out there with some more helpful advice.
