Want to learn more about what to feed your resident obligate carnivore? This tribe is a good place to start. Though it'll concentrate mostly on cats, because that's what I gots, dogs and people who want to learn more about canine nutrition are welcome too. Cats and dogs are different in many respects, but they're both carnivores and dogs often thrive on the same type of high-protein, low-carb, grain-free diet cats do as well.

We can babble here about various things like nutritional research, interesting studies and websites, and how to interpret pet food labels, as well as discuss the basics of kitty digestion and diet formulation. If you're interested in making home-made cat food (raw or cooked), or if you have techniques and recipes to share, this tribe covers that too. Discussions about holistic pet healthcare, health issues and any other questions and concerns about the little bastids are also welcome.

Soapbox warning: I have major issues with various marketing myths fed to us by those crapful bastards, Pet Food Conglomerates. That means I'll be bitching about most types of commercial pet food on a fairly frequent basis. Feel free to let me know when I've gone off the deep end.
